Stories are an important part of our lives.
Education, information, and real experiences are all important things to spread and share. Sometimes though, I believe, that stories are some of the most powerful things we can use to understand one another and connect our lives.
Storytelling has always been very import to me. They often have been something I have used to ground myself. I have used stories as a means to understand myself, and understand others when I have struggled. Stories have always connected me to the world, and I want to make them an important part of Blueprints of a Man.
Right now, Blueprints of a Man is mostly focused on more essay and personal blog style writing, but eventually I want to incorpate stories that highlight LGBTQ+ peoples lives, without making their queerness their only, or most imporant, trait.
The Stories I wanna tell
I want to tell stories that show the real lives of the those of the LGBTQ+. I don’t want to write a story about a gay man, I want to write stories about men who happen to be gay, or trans, or bi, or anything else living their normal everyday lives.
Of course, I also do want to write stories that highlight those of the LGBTQ+ struggles. I want to write peoples lives as they really are, not dramatizations of the stereo types that still heavily haunt the LGBTQ+.
Some stories might explore struggles with identity, transition, relationships, family.
Others might be stories about peoples hobbys, dreams, jobs, failures, and sucess and their everyday normal lives.
The stories will be about being human.
Future Projects
These are some of the future projects I want to work on that will live here on this page.
Illustrations
Art pieces that show the beauty of masculinity, creativity, and even the struggles with it.
Longer Works
I have always dreamed of writing a novel, and I want to someday work towards writing novels featuring LGBTQ+ characters.
Comics
I want to make comics that highlight the real people of the LGBTQ+ in a visual medium. Particularly I want to use this to break down stereotypes of what gay men or lesbian women, or any other group, should look like.
Short Stories
Along with the longer works, I plan to write short stories. Short stories are always unique in their single mindedness and their ability to focus on a single topic intensily. Sometimes even able to be utterly bizarre.
Coming Soon
While this section is still being worked on and produced, I am excited for the day it will be ready. I am working hard to be able to share the stories that have lived in my head for so long.
I can’t wait for them to be ready, and to share them all with you here.
