Who am I?
I am trans
I am creative
I am loud
I am quiet
I am bold
I am fearful
I am in the end, a million different things that all come together to make up me.
In reality, beyond all those things, I am simply am Luke, someone who’s trying to figure out his life and place. Trying to figure out who he wants to be. And thats really hard somedays, some days its really hard to be me. Other days it feels easier, to just berathe and be me.
It takes time, and patience, but I am slowly learning who I am every day, and I hope you’ll join me on that.
Beyond the Label
Being trans is an important part of my identity, but its not the only thing that I am.
I’m a man who’s interested in creativity, masculinity, relationships, identity, storytelling, and a million other things that make up the entire person that I am, beyond my label.
I feel that often those of the LGBTQ+ are reduced to nothing, but their label. I often find that when people find out I am trans, I become trans over anything else. I want to embrace the normality of being trans, or having any other label of the LGBTQ+, and the idea that the label doesn’t suddenly make us any different than anyone else as human beings.
In the end, I believe we are all humans over anything else and deserve to be seen as such. Everyone deserves to be seen as someone who’s multidimensional. That being trans, or gay, or bi, or anything else doesn’t magically transform us into something unrecognizable.
Why “Blueprints of a man”?
I choose the name to embrace the idea of individuality. Wether that be around ones own transition, growing up, or just the natural progression of life and changing.
Rather than seeing those changes as a single pathway or line, I think the image of blueprints of more fitting.
Its a plan, an idea of what you want, not the construction.
If the plan isn’t working, it can be remade. Redrawn. Scrapped and remade entirely. Its allowed, and often even expected, to change overtime and throughout the construction of ourselves.
Your allowed to remake you blueprints. I’m remaking mine everyday as I work to explore who I want to be.
